Privacy policy

What we collect

• Booking details: your name, email address, country, and your answers to the booking questions (education, goals, study preferences, English test results if you share them).
• The session you choose, its date and time, and your time zone.
• Payment confirmation from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Messages you send through the contact form.
• Anonymous visit statistics (pages viewed, country, device type). These don't use cookies and can't identify you.

Why we use it

• To prepare for and hold your consultation.
• To send your confirmation, reminders, meeting link, and any changes to your booking.
• To process payments and refunds.
• To answer your messages.
• To keep the records Canadian tax law requires.

We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with schools or agencies.

Services we use

• Stripe: payments.
• Google: the calendar event and Google Meet link for your session.
• Resend: sending booking emails.
• Vercel and Neon: hosting the website and its database.
• Cloudflare: domain and email routing.

These companies process information on our behalf, only for the purposes above. Some store data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under their laws.

Cookies

The public website doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie is a security cookie for the site administrator's login.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Canadian tax rules require (currently six years after the end of the tax year). Contact messages and booking answers are deleted when they're no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your information sooner where the law allows.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@canadaacademicguide.com. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Security

The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to booking information is limited to the site administrator and protected by a password.
